Mark Bardill

Senior Counsel

Mark Bardill has served local government as a Special Tax Attorney for nearly 40 years. During this period, Mark has collected delinquent taxes on thousands of parcels. He has been instrumental in developing the foreclosure program as a method of tax collection for each unit of local government he has served. His efforts in getting these foreclosure programs off the ground to full and complete implementation have resulted in greatly reduced delinquency rates in the counties and municipalities he serves. Some of the tax offices he has helped now allow only 1 year of delinquent taxes before foreclosure proceedings are filed.

Mark also serves as legislative and judicial affairs director at the firm. Zacchaeus is dedicated to the property tax community, and as such, understands the need to monitor, and at times, defend against or promote bills that are introduced in the North Carolina General Assembly. Mark plans for each session with our lobbyist, and together they work to protect the interests of the property tax collection community, all at no charge to our clients. Mark graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1981 as a Mark Braswell Scholar. In 1985, he graduated from the University of North Carolina School of Law as a member of its Moot Court Bench.
